For an idea of how I want my illustrations to look in my Hot Dog Fold book, I have been looking at the famous Peter Rabbit stories by Beatrix Potter. Her incredible fine detail and subtle use of water colour, keeping an original traditional method of design is something I want to work towards. The books influenced children across the globe, changing the way a children's book was designed and wrote with incredible imagination. I want my target audience to approach the same market, focussing on youth combining the old with a more up to date style of illustration.

ReplyDeleteMay I ask where that first image was found?^ I thought we had a full collection of the Potter Tales, but I don't recall that lovely drawing of the bunnies looking at a book. Is it from something else or a website separate from the little books? I'm very interested to learn more about its story. : )
