Rationale: Vans

The approach in which I am going to take this brief in is by promoting a brand and recreating existing packaging for Vans shoes, that has one aim. To show the audience what the company is all about. By being direct as I can, will allow me to create design work suitable to my concept.

By bringing the history back to the front of the brand, will hopefully show the skateboarding community that there is more to just making profit. I want to have advertising in a purpose that isn't out for making money, rather showing the people why Vans came about.

The main points I am going to deal with are;

- Zine: Putting together a suitable yet easily associated design driven zine, containing key information of the history, time line of events, where they are now, events and the sole purpose of vans.

- Packaging: The aim of course is to sell the product. Without packaging there would be no clear indication of protection, purpose for the market. I want to create packaging that reflects the purpose of Vans keeping a fluent theme across the brief.

- Branding: Keeping key with the constant growing Vans, I want to try and incorporate design led, informative work that the audience want to feel part of. Giving the company back to it's original place of mind. Skateboarding.

- Promotion: By creating adverts, posters and design that has a direct approach to the audience I aim to push a non-profit campaign that focusses on the purpose, not selling a product as such.
