10 Things to Know about Print: ISSUU BOOK DESIGN

Just been messing around on Illustrator trying to create my own printing dots (CMYK) for the print process book. These will be featured orderly on the cover, to give a clear indication on the contents of the book. It fits appropriately as the main focus of print is using the CMYK colour mode as an output.

FRONT COVER:-

A few quick ideas of how the design might look for the cover. Based on my knowledge of print, spot colour has been used, CMYK ultimately becoming a 4 colour + stock print job. By thinking practically I feel the outcome of this design will be more effective in meeting the brief.

FINAL:-

This is the final design for the front cover. It's not perfected but as for now I'm fairly happy with the outcome. As you can see the CMYK colour mode has been over layered with different patterned shapes to help visually communicate the process and relation to print.

BACK COVER:-

As for the back cover, I'm working on creating a fluent piece of design that reflects both ways of the spectrum using RGB. Although this isn't directly associated with print, it seemed appropriate in reflecting with the process of print, design on screen is equally important as the printed outcome.

FINAL:-

Saying that I have changed my mind. Orange and green can also be added the the CMYK process colour spectrum, this would produce more effective tints during the print process. So it seems more appropriate than using RGB.

FRONT&BACK:-

This is not finished completely as of yet, but it seems to be coming together nicely. Particularly the artwork that I have created, as it can be easily visually recognised across the design world.
