AFTER EFFECTS: Session Five

Main Objectives:

- KEYFRAMING
- "GROUPING"
- AUDIO

-

After Effects window, when opening the composition.

Each object moves at a constant speed.  Focussing on acceleration, the feel of this motion is unnatural and ineffective.

Using the 'easy ease out' tool will allow the keyframe to gradually change in motion before it reaches a constant speed.

The various ease tools allow you to change the velocity in which the shape travels, from either start to an end point.

-

Clicking on the 'speed graph' editor tool will allow you to see the distance of speed in measured onto a graph, created by the keyframes. Various keyframe differences will show a varied graph.

You can also change the speed between the keyframes by dragging the anchor points across a horizontal axis.

*Applying the ease out options > Tweaking them in the graph editor.

-

PENDULUM -

To create a swinging motion, you need to change the location of the initial anchor point then alter the speed between the set rotation key frames. This will allow you to create a natural motion.

>>> TEST MOTIONS <<<

- PARENT LAYERS > Select the required number of layers, link the them to one layer using the parent drop down menu.

- NESTED COMPOSITION >

To create a nested composition, the required layers need to be selected. Then you can click on the layers menu and chose 'pre-compose'.

- Collapse TRANSFORMATIONS - Allows to see everything within original composition, ignores the boundaries.

- SOUND

The same principles are used to import a piece of sound, you can also drag the wavelength to stop and start wherever you feel the need to. Synchronising.
