'HUMANS ARE TERRIBLE' -

The main idea behind this visual type poster, is create a sense fear influenced by the Nazi regime throughout World War II. The typeface used is a sans serif style fraktur font, similarly used throughout German posters. Hopefully the impact created by the poster, automatically relates directly to the given theme. The final copy of the poster would be printed out on red paper, as I think the black would more effectively on the stock.

For this quote, I had a very clear image in my head of how I wanted the overall outcome to look. To begin with, the typeface of choice was Gothic Italic as I felt a sans serif letterforms would allow a subtle glance to reading the type. Without the details overtaking.

All of the modification has been digitally rendered through Illustrator.

IMAGE - Type

To begin with, I need to start understanding how type can be used to communicate a message through it's fundamentals. In order to achieve this, I have started playing around with different typefaces, that I think effectively relate to a chosen quote. From this I am going to apply image to each character to produce a piece of design using image as a type.

The main focus here is to investigate potential letterforms and typefaces that could be potential ideas. As you can see there is a theme running across these pages, Nazi Germany and Blackletter type. By focussing the quote to a specific event, will allow me to generate imagery more effectively.
